Strawberry Moon - Art on the Beach

Registration

  • Artist Guidelines

    • No entry fee for participating artists
    • Must be a member of the Arts
    • No open flames, no risk for fire damage
    • No sharp objects
    • Installation of art needs to be completed by 5pm on Friday 5 June. You have 48 hours ahead of event to work on project.
    • No glitter (or anything small and plentiful that is impossible to clean up)
    • Artwork appropriate for all ages
    • Provide lighting for your site
    • Teardown to be completed by Friday, 5 June at 10pm
    • Must leave site clean- Leave No Trace.
    • This event is an “art happening” and not an art sale
  • Artists that plan to preform - fire dancing, belly dancing, music, spoken word, etc - that prefer to have a specific time allotted instead of a site installation.

    • You must use the site as you found it. No removing branches, etc.
    • Teardown to be completed by Friday, 5 June at 10pm
    • Must leave site clean- Leave No Trace.
    • This event is an “art happening” and not an art sale
Art gathering on the beach in Bay St Louis on June 5th (the Strawberry Moon!). 

The details (as of right now):

  • ·         Friday, 5 June.  Open to public from 7-9pm.  On the beach just north of the harbor in BSL.
  • ·         Free for public and for artist participants
  • ·         Setup starts at noon on 5 June.  Setup must be completed and cleaned up by 6pm (open from 7 – 9) and then broken down/cleaned up by 10pm
  • ·         It’s a strawberry moon rising at 8pm!
  • ·         We’ll provide bamboo structure (quadripods – picture forthcoming) that are about 6’x6’ for artists to hang their work.
  • ·         There is no electricity!  Please bring your own solar lights, battery powered fairy light, luminaries, etc.
  • ·         It’s on June 5th!  So, we’re helping you by taking the month-long procrastination away
  • ·         Bring your installation from UTFM last year, something that you’ve already created or start something new.  Just make sure it’s weather resistant and/or you’re okay if it gets sand, rain, Bay water, etc. on it.
  • ·         Use this as an opportunity to show off your art! Bring business cards, signs, etc.  but please keep in mind this is not an art sale.
  • ·         There might be a bonfire.
  • ·         This is designed to be an outdoor, socially-distant event.
