Make Playful Accordion Books!
This 2-Session workshop is appropriate for ages 7-12. Students will make a simple drawing, learn how to reverse it, then carve a small rubber block stamp, and make an accordion book.
*Bring small (about 2”x 3”) clear-photos, drawings, magazine or other images that you like. Magazines and photo books will also be provided for imagery and inspiration. Enjoy composing and drawing the image for your rubber stamp block. You will create your rubber stamp block, cutting it out with a lino cutter. This design will be printed on note cards and within your accordion book. Printing your pages with your own rubber stamp, along with commercial stamper images and alphabet stamps, you will "write" your book.
Your rubber stamp may be used many times, on many different surfaces! This is a two day workshop.
*Day one, March 4: Create your rubber stamp. Print your note cards and accordion pieces.
*Day two, March 5: Assemble your cover. Compose your dried, printed books and collect your dried note cards.
$45 class fee Hancock Arts members $50 class fee non-members $20 materials fee (rubber blocks, paper, binding materials and paints) payable to instructor on day of first session.
