In this 3-session workshop series, students will receive a thorough overview of basic weaving methods and gain the confidence to continue to explore weaving on their own. We will explore weaving with various fibers, combining natural materials and explore the creative possibilities of loom weaving.
Supply fee includes loom kit to use in class and take home to continue creating. All materials will be provided at the workshop. Students are welcome to bring any additional yarn, fibers, ribbons, flora or whatever they would like to experiment with. No prior weaving experience needed, and all levels are welcome.

Session 1: Basic Weaving Techniques. Students learn to warp a frame loom, create fringe, plain weave technique, create shapes, textures and patterns. Learn to remove your project from the loom and turn it into a unique wall hanging.
Session 2: Blending Fiber & Flora. Combining weaving techniques with delights of nature. Create a magical wall hanging that blends textiles and elements of nature. Each student will create a sculptural wildflower wall hanging.
Session 3: Branch Weaving Wall Hanging. This class utilizes the techniques learned in the previous two sessions to create a beautiful natural landscape. Students will learn to warp a handmade branch loom; to add natural textures such as moss, tree bark, dried grasses etc..
