Create your own illuminated jellyfish lantern while sipping on a java at the ARTS in Bay St. Louis!

Join us for this unique opportunity to craft your own illuminated jellyfish lantern to hang wherever you'd like some undersea magic! And, you can carry this lantern in The Arts HANDMADE PARADE on the Winter Solstice on Dec. 21.

In this four hour session, participants will design their jellyfish by selecting fabrics, ribbon, trim, and beads of their choice. We will build our jellies piece by piece with the guidance of artist Holly Garvin.

Your overall jellyfish will be approximately 12in wide and 45in long. All tools, supplies, and coffee will be provided. Looking forward to sharing my oceanic passion with you!

Participants will walk away with a ready-to-hang illuminated jellyfish lantern and the skills to use textiles in a creative way.

Appropriate for ages 13 thru adult.
$50 per person materials fee payable to instructor at beginning of class.
Class fee members: $87.75
Class fee non-members: $97.50

About Your Instructor:

Holly Garvin is a multi-passionate creator in Bay St. Louis, Mississippi. She brings her love for the sea into every artwork that she creates. Holly’s passion is fueled by her love for hydrography, oceanography, boating, and nautical charts and merging them into her art. By day, Holly is a Captain of her tug boat art studio, and by night she uses that work as her inspiration to create Gyotaku fish rubbings and ocean art with a scientific twist. Holly’s work, created from a variety of mediums, explores bold textures, colors, and styles that are as varied, mysterious, and deep as the sea. Holly hopes that her work leaves you feeling the limitless possibilities of your life’s adventures. And perhaps, inspires you to explore the endless bounty of the sea.
