The theme is "Poetry of Place". We have many special places here in Hancock County: Old Towne, the Waveland pier, the waters of Pearlington, the Gulf, our churches, schools, community halls, our parents or grandparents' front porch, even the quiet spot under a shady magnolia tree in our own back yard. A very special place cound be deep in the Kiln, or deep in a childhood memory. There are so many special places here, all in our area.

Where in our area do you feel a deep personal connection? What does living in Hancock County mean to you? Write a poem capturing the spirit, vitality, or charm of your very special Hancock County place.

Finalists will be notified, and 1st, 2nd and 3rd place winners will all be invited, along with their parents, to the awards ceremony on Friday, July 14 at 100 Men Hall.
