It's Back! The next STORY SLAM, Sunday, Jan 14, 5 - 7p
Story SLAM at The Arts is a live storytelling "Open Mic" type event in the vein of poetry slams and was originally organized by The Moth, a non-profit literary society from New York City, since 2001. Storytellers (slammers) have 5 minutes each to tell a story, based on a theme chosen for the event. January's theme is"I could have died!"
For Story Slammers, your story must be about YOU!
Stories must be told, not read in five minutes (No note cards)
Again, the theme for January is......."I could have died!"
We will limit each SLAM to ten storytellers.
Register only if you want to tell a story. Listeners/audience members do not need to register.
BYOB and snacks
(note to parents: some stories may contain adult content)
While our event is not affiliated with nor endorsed by THE MOTH, we are their idea for our own fun. And we do have fun. Who knows? Maybe we will eventually host a live MOTH broadcast!
All slammers will have a chance at our FABULOUS door prizes to be given away!
