    Arts Alive 2020 Volunteer Roles:

    Green Team- The role of the Green team is to provide information and support to festival visitors.  Hand out festival guide/map, direct people to venues and attractions, collect surveys, solicit donations. Green team will be positioned at the info booth major points of entry and also walk around the festival grounds.  

    Yellow Team- The Yellow team is responsible for logistics and staffing and support for the Info Booth and other key locations around the event. Yellow team is responsible for artist placement and management. Yellow team is also responsible for vehicle access control at Second St. barricades and restricted parking areas.

    Purple Team- The Purple team assists with hands-on activities and demonstrations in the Makerspace.  Prepare to get dirty and help out with the T-shirt factory, painting trash cans, pottery wheel demos and so much more.

    Red Team- The Red Team serves as team leaders. They are in contact via radio.  Red Team will troubleshoot problems, oversee operations and manage volunteer teams.  They will also provide overnight venue security.

    The following 4-hour shifts are available.  Sign up for as many shifts as you are available.

    1. Friday Mar 20, 4:00 PM - 8:00 PM (SET-UP)

     2.  Saturday Mar 21, 8:00 AM - 12:00 PM

     3. Saturday March 21, 10:00 AM - 2:00 PM

    4. Saturday March 21, 2:00 PM - 6:00 PM

    5.Sunday March 22, 10:00 AM - 2:00 PM

    6. Sunday March 22, 2:00 PM - 6:00 PM

    7. Monday March 23 12:00 PM - 4:00 PM (Tear down)

    If you haven’t heard already, Arts Alive 2020 is happening soon on March 21-22! Festival goers enjoy local artists showcasing and demonstrating many various types of art, enjoying live music and delicious local food. In 2019, over 5,000 visitors attended from across the Southeast region.   We are encouraging local business owners in the Old Town area to take advantage of this opportunity participating in Arts Alive. What this means for your business:

    • We have expanded our marketing and promotion plans for Arts Alive which will feature your business’s participation in social media and allow us to advertise to and attract more tourists and festival-goers to the area for the festival.

    • Star location on the map handout

    • In previous years, this event has been known to be one of the biggest profit days of the year for Old Town businesses, and we hope to draw even more new business to the area as the festival continues to grow.

    • This festival has garnered much media attention, naming BSL "The Best Hidden Gem Destination in Mississippi".  in many local news outlets (both print and television), as well as national (USA Today), and will continue to do so. This means more recognition of the festival and our awesome town, which in turn means more potential revenue.

    What you need to do:

    • Become a Retail/Business Member of the Arts, Hancock Co., if you aren’t already. ($60)

    • SIgn-up as a Arts Alive “Hotspot” location.  Bold listing on festival map and online promotion, opportunity to host artists at your business ($50)

    ArtsAlive! is an innovative art festival, where music, art, food, theater and literature mix it up for an unforgettable experience in the historic seaside town of Bay St. Louis, Mississippi. 

    Dozens of artists will show work, demonstrate technique and share their creative process with customers at shops and galleries throughout Old Town.

    On Saturday 2 May 2020 The Arts, Hancock County MS will present our second annual nighttime art installation extravaganza - Under the Flower Moon - on the beautiful property of James and Peggy Inabinet.

    This event, held under a spring full moon, will be magical. Just imagine strolling through nature’s beauty along a trail and enjoying various forms of art bursting out from nature! There will be 25 sites built by artists along with music, healing arts and other forms of creative expression.
